I'm talking all of us! For the rest of the week we will be retreating as needed. What am I talking about? This new obsession of mine titled,
20-Minute Retreats: Revive Your Spirits in Just MInutes a Day with Simple Self-Led Exercises by Rachel Harris, Ph.D. Don't have time to do these? Well, guess what? There are also 5 and 1 minute retreats as well.
When I need a retreat, I have a pajama day. I haven't had a full one of these in forever. Before the kids, I would take pajama weekends! I really needed these times while recovering from D&C surgeries. I did them often.
To plan for a pajama day I would start accumulating books that I wanted to read. Then I would get quick, healthy food that I wanted to eat. Lastly, I would arrange the day off. When that day came, I wouldn't get out of my pajamas. Taking baths, lounging, reading for fun and having tea in the quiet. I would also journal if I felt the need to. Some times I would sleep the whole day, or cry the whole day. The phone and the tv were always off. I only wanted silence.

There were times that I really needed a pajama day, but couldn't arrange one. I have dreamed about doing a formal retreat outside of my house for once, but those cost money that I don't have at this point in my life. Maybe one day.
This book is for the busy person who would like to retreat, needs to retreat, but doesn't have full days to devote to themselves. It is broken down into 13 retreat categories, which help you to decide which type of exercise that you should do while retreating.
This week I'm going to be trying different retreats in the book, and I will describe them to you and tell you how it goes. If you decide to follow along, please let me know how it works out for you as well. We'd all love to have the input.
