Things to be happy about, I need this tonight

To get myself in the mind set for a better week, I thought that I would remind myself of some things to try to even out the recent thoughts of miscarriage and death from cancer. Let's see what I can find.

  • slow snowfalls: This past week has been very warm but on certain mornings you can smell fall in the air. Autumn is my favorite season for many reasons, but I also love snow fall. Not necessarily being in the snow, but watching it is so beautiful.

  • tomato gardens: Although our garden did not do well for tomatoes this year, I have friends and family who have been blessed with enough tomatoes to share. Our favorite homemade pizza is tomato, mozzerella, and basil. We have had the great fortune to eat this many times the past couple of months.

  • hearty chocolate cocoa: My kids drink "chocolate coffee" which is actually just chocolate soy milk. Tonight after they went to bed, I was mixing up another half gallon of the mixture and decided to have some myself. Not too rich, and heated in the microwave, it hit the spot.

  • cheek to cheek dancing: Chris and I don't dance cheek to cheek. We are more likely to be dancing like crazy rap videos more than anything else. Ivy and I don't dance cheek to cheek either. She is more the Madonna, a la, "Lucky Star" video, rolling around on the floor. But Bec is a different story. He loves dancing cheek to cheek with mama. He loves it so much, he normally falls asleep.

  • Woolen sweaters: At the fair this year, I splurged on a chunky knit, zip up, hooded, light grey sweater that I have wanted for years. Although I have to wear it with a light sweater underneath due to the itch factor, it is so warm and totally cozy. I feel all little house on the prairie when I wear it. Perhaps this is another reason for my truly wanting some snow this year?

  • Mango Salad: See yesterday's post! Yummy!
