I was checking in with my favorite blogs last night, looking for some inspiration and also some updates on families that I know and I came across the following post from my friend, the blogger also known as Mary Poppins.

Good Bye
The parrot on the end of Mary Poppins' umbrella has been squawking something about the winds changing. This morning, MP stuck her head out the window, and son-of-a-gun, the parrot was right. Perfect winds for a departure. Perfect winds for a happy ending and a happy beginning. MP will now snap, and her computer, keyboard, printer, and digital camera will hop into her carpet bag. She must hurry if she is to catch up with the children flying kites in the park. You never know when MP will come back; she's certain to drop in on all of you. And one day she may reopen the pages of The Bus4Us. But not now. And not soon.

First of all, I was concerned. Then I calmed myself by reading the comments and found out that Mary Poppins has just decided to put a close to her blog on her own without any outside turmoil. Relief! They were all ok, just heading to the park on a new path.

The feeling now that remains is pride for Mary Poppins and the family at TheBus4Us. Congratultions on putting away the keyboard and refocusing on the babes. Congratulations on all of your extra time that you can now use towards taking care of yourself. We will miss your words, but we understand the decision as well. Thanks for including us on your journey.

The decision to end a blog, or even a chapter in a blog is difficult. It is also needed. I have read blogs that limp along, suffering, needing to be put to rest until they are fresh and vital again. I'm guilty of this as well. My personal blog goes for weeks unattended. My poor friends and family do random checks here and there, hoping for an update. A break can be wonderful for the writer and the readers. Mary Poppins is amazing, deciding to leave the party with us all wanting more. Smart woman. I hope that others will follow her lead when the time comes.
