After dinner tonight my friend Joan invited us to go swimming. The boys stayed at home while the girls went to the pool. Our friends Regen and Alexy went with us. It has been miserable hot the past few days and we jumped at the chance to get into the water. Although the time was later on in the day when the heat had cooled off, the water was perfect. Ivy swam and swam until her lips were literally blue. A wonderful way to end the night, especially for a Monday.
Coming home to write, I had water on the brain. Pool water, that is. I decided to
google the words swimming and fertility. And here is the range that popped up.
From
Dr. Spock's site a question is posted about swimming after intercourse. Can it be detrimental to couples that are trying to conceive? And, of course the answer is no. Swim away!
From
epigee.org:
Exercise
Moderate exercise can also be a good natural fertility treatment. When combined with a balanced and nutritious diet, exercise can help you to maintain a healthy body weight. Excess body fat can increase the amount of estrogen in your body, throwing the female fertility cycle out of balance. Exercise helps to burn off this excess body fat, allowing hormone levels to return to normal. It is best not to overdo exercise though - over exercising can actually impair fertility. Try low impact aerobic workouts like walking, swimming, and cycling

And lastly, from
Meltdown we have a theory about copper toxicity:
Do you like to swim? If you spend any significant amount of time in a swimming pool, the water may be the cause of your copper toxicity. Copper is the most effective way to kill algae in swimming pools. Dumping algaecide in the pool raises the water's copper levels enough so that the trace element can enter into your skin.
Two little words entered into a search engine and look what we get. What a varied world is ours.
