Ok, Ha ha to the cliche, I couldn't resist. But honestly, I have a killer headache tonight. I'm thinking that as the story goes, someone has a headache, so someone else in the couple isn't going to be getting any for the duration of the pain. For the good of procreation, I have turned to my aromatherapy texts to figure out which oils are good for relieving headaches. Here is what I found out:
Bottom notes: Patchouli, mental properties are used for depression, grounding, stress, and tension.
Middle notes: Lavender, mental properties are used for calming, depression, stress and anxiety. Rosemary, mental properties are used for clarity, exhaustion, lethargy. Rosewood, mental properties are used for balancing, depression, and strength.
Top notes: Basil, mental properties are used for clarity, depression, mental fatigue, nervousness, stress. Eucalyptus, mental properties used for calming and mental clarity. Lemon, mental properties used for depression and stress. Lemongrass, Peppermint, mental properties used for anger, clarity, and lethargy.

Now I wonder if this will count. For dinner we had basil lemon chicken. I got the recipe from the book
Under the Tuscan Sun. You rub 6 chicken pieces with the juice of one lemon combined with 1/2 cup green onions and 1/2 cup chopped basil. Salt and pepper. Add to a well oiled baking dish, drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees, uncovered. The prep smelled great. The cooking aroma was wonderful. The taste was very good. Served along with crescent rolls and sparkling water with lemon, it made a delicious meal.
Will I have to mix up some oils for a bath later? Yeah, I think so. This headache has taken hold and lasted through my aromatherapy inspired dinner. It's time to pull out the big guns. Now, where is my aromatherapy kit, my droppers and my compresses? Maybe the dark with some candle light? Maybe I'll just take an Advil :)
