So, once again, I can't sleep. All of you have heard or experienced how having little ones in the house can disrupt your sleep patterns. Well, I have always had trouble sleeping, even as a child. Of course, during my pregnancies and then with a newborn, it only got worse. Even when she slept through the night, I couldn't. Now Bec is home and he is a trooper when it comes to sleeping at night. Not so for Mommy!

Instead of lying around and fretting over how my not sleeping is going to influence my mood tomorrow, I normally get up and try to do something soothing to calm myself into a state of sleepiness. A lot of the time, I find myself wandering through the internet without intent or purpose to where I end up. Well tonight, actually, it is morning, I found myself on the holistic online web site. www.holisticonline.com

What a wealth of insight these people have. They list alphabetically different alternative therapies for females. As I looked up infertility and insomnia together, it began with Aromatherapy. It then went on to list certain oils that could be helpful with individual infertility causes. Then lists a recipe of oils of cinnamon, clove, onion and garlic in a carrier vegetable oil to be used daily on the bottom half of the body. Yeah, it would probably smell gross, but I definitely would have tried it when I was dealing with infertility.

There is also a section regarding insomnia with infertility. In this part they recommended either neroli, lavendar, basil, marjoram, rose or sandalwood. Some can be inhaled while dropped in a bowl of steaming water. Some can be massaged onto the skin, worn as a perfume or dropped into your bath water.

I have recently just finished a continuing education course for an aromatherapy certification. I have all of my sample oils locked away from the kids, but since reading this page, they are calling out to me. Hopefully, I can get some rest!
