How Does This Ad Sit With You?

I apologize for the sorry state of the image that I had to scan and then alter to get to fit into our format. I tried to find a jpeg image from different websites but I wasn't able to find one. So, you're at least stuck with a partial, grainy image instead of having me describe it to you.

I came across this ad for Clearblue Easy Digital Ovulation Test. You might not be able to see all of the words, but it goes like this.

How to use:
CLEARBLUE EASY
DIGITAL OVULATION TEST

1: It works like a pregnancy test. The test detects an increase (surge) in the luteinizing hormone (LH) in your urine and shows a smiley face when you are most fertile. If a smiley face appears proceed to STEP 2:

2: Seduce your man.

Excuse me? I read it over just to be sure that I had read it right. So according to this ad, it is my responsibility to first of all, purchase this test. Then use it. Then dance on the counter in my kitchen in a short dress and no shoes while my husband watches with a beverage. Wait a minute. When did having a kid and getting pregnant only involve work, planning and seduction on the female of the species? Now I know that in the above steps the male wouldn't be able to actually take the test, but what about the other parts? I really think that I would feel better if they said, "Inform your husband." But the "Seduce your man." in bold font makes me feel very uncomfortable. Along with everything else we are "supposed" to do as women, I guess we are just supposed to add this to the ever growing list? Maybe I'm just a bit overwhelmed lately, but this ad makes me feel like there has been no work in name of gender equality and it makes me sad and very angry. How about you?

From the picture it looks like the man is administering the ovulation test!
Other than that it doesn't really bother me. I've come to accept that women's work is never done...even when it comes to making babies!
