This morning I came into my office and on my desk was a very sweet ornament made for me by my aunt. My sister and mom also had one each. I will try to accurately describe what it looks like.
It is a clear ornament with a small amount of gold tinsel tucked inside. I would say approximately 10 strands, just enough to get it sparkly. Also tucked inside is a very small white feather. Attached to the hook part of the ornament is a handmade tag of red construction paper. On the tag is another white cut out with decorative scissors. On the tag is then printed in a script-type font the following poem.
"A feather from an Angel
is on we hardly ever see
But this one is quite different
and special as can be.
This feather is a reminder
of a special persons love
Who is now your 'guardian Angel'
watching and protecting from above."
This would be a great homemade gift for a friend or relative who has lost a baby or pregnancy. It would be very easy and not very expensive at all. As I'm thinking of it, almost everyone is touched by a loss of a loved one, so you could make a lot at once. I don't think that little children would be able to make these as the edge of the ornament could be sharp, but for older kids it should be pretty easy if you are looking for a snowy day activity.

Our tree is unadorned for the moment and probably will be until the weekend. Tonight I'm going to hang this lone decoration on the tree to remind me of my dad and to get our Christmas tree started. Little by little I feel the Christmas spirit coming into the house.
