The What Ifs of Infertility

Through stirrup-queens and sperm palace jesters I found the following link for "I Probably Shouldn't Be Writing This" from Thalia's blog.

This post is in the Creme de la Creme of The Best from the Infertility and Pregnancy Loss blogs 2006. Thalia writes about the "what ifs" from all of her fertility treatments and unprotected sex. What if each one would have taken hold? She talks about how old each child would be and what they would be doing at this time. It is eye opening to say the least, and... more

Well, have I got the blog for you!

Christmas For All

And talk about the "For All". The posts on this site run from instructions on how to decorate with lights on the outside of your house, all the way through to the Brad and Angelina wedding planned in South Africa this Christmas. The posts are pretty put up pretty regularly and are very lengthy and fun.

The blog started back in August with a post on "Christmas Party Ideas". The blog is written by Sean Carter who also has blogs titled, "Thanksgiving", "Valentine's Day" and "Halloween For All". There are lots of links for almost every Christmas need and also... more

I was over on Tertia's blog today and she posted the following article:

Wine-drinking women are more fertile - report

September 18 2003 at 11:30AM Copenhagen - Women who drink moderate quantities of wine become pregnant more easily than their teetotal or beer-supping sisters, a Danish medical review reported Thursday.

According to Dagens Medecin a study of 30,000 women showed that those who chose a glass of wine over beer or spirits were most likely to conceive. The least... more

Her Very Own

Here is some advice from Akeeyu at HerVeryOwn blog that I entirely agree with for all of you new-to-blogs readers:

I hate this stage. I am loathe to type a single word when I know we'll be cycling so soon because I suspect that in six weeks I'll just be one more example of why you should never read infertility blogs backwards. It's too depressing to read about stale hope and old loss when you know how things come out in the end. Sometimes I go back and read old entries and am struck by the urge to yell "Look out!" at the screen, as if I'm watching a horror movie late at night. Reading backwards means that you know... more

The End of a Blog

Posted by : Karianne in Fertility Blog at 09:05 am , 382 words, 58 views
Categories: Blogs I Read

I was checking in with my favorite blogs last night, looking for some inspiration and also some updates on families that I know and I came across the following post from my friend, the blogger also known as Mary Poppins.

Good Bye The parrot on the end of Mary Poppins' umbrella has been squawking something about the winds changing. This morning, MP stuck her head out the window, and son-of-a-gun, the parrot was right. Perfect winds for a departure. Perfect winds for a happy ending and a happy beginning. MP will now snap, and her computer, keyboard, printer, and digital camera will hop into her carpet bag. She must hurry if she is to catch up with the children flying... more

Celebrity Miscarriage

Posted by : Karianne in Fertility Blog at 05:43 pm , 300 words, 61 views
Categories: Blogs I Read

I know that there is a quote out there somewhere that states that everything that can be created has already been created, or something to that tune. Well, I encountered this with today's post. I had the bright idea of researching and running a list of celebrities that have had miscarriages. Starting to do my search, I ran across, babyfruit. This blog is written by Aliza Sherman Risdahl and it has a list of celebrities who have miscarried. Some of her sources may be a little... more

Cancer, Baby blog

This blog is devastating. I came across it a while ago and really wondered if I should mention it here. It is the story of Jessica and her fight for a baby and her fight for her life. The blog is no longer being updated, and will be removed in a few days. Although I'm not really sure when it will be taken off of the net, please take a look just in case it is still there.

I am not able to cross post any of her writings, as she and her family have requested that we not do so. Just... more

In the mix of my genetic mixture, I am 1/4 Filipino. My grandmother and grandfather met and married there while he was in the service. 12 pregnancies, resulting in 6 children is my grandmother's fertility history, one of the children being my father.

I was reading a post about the kidnapping threats of Russian gansters to Madonna and her children on www.BloggingBaby.com. I then started to click... more

In Her Shoes/One Art

Yesterday, Chris and I were able to sit down and start a movie that we have been waiting to see for a couple of months. Yep, we don't get a chance to see movies together, even at home, unless it is one of the movies that Ivy can watch. The movie was "In Her Shoes".

I am not a movie watcher. I do not enjoy going to the theater, I'll sit through a DVD in spurts at home, but only if it holds my attention. This isn't very often, I'll admit. I will normally make a decision to watch the full movie within the first 15 minutes. It drives Chris nuts.... more
